About RIECADO

RIECADO is a service provider for capacity auctions and for selling rights for capacity transmission at the interconnections between APG and the bordering countries. At the moment, bilateral auctions take place between Austria and the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland. The legal basis for these bilateral auctions is a contract between APG and the each respective TSO of the aforementioned countries.

Therefore, RIECADO is the only independent auction office. In other countries, the auctioning of capacities is done by the TSOs themselves.

The aim of RIECADO is the successful handling of cross-border capacities despite the occurrence of bottlenecks.
